The Band
Houston Ridge Bluegrass is based in North Alabama and plays traditional, gospel, and progressive bluegrass. They perform many of their own original songs. Their sound combines acoustic instruments with driving rhythms and family harmony.
Terry Rolin
Terry has sung and played bluegrass guitar for over twenty-five years and was among the founding members of the bluegrass band, Rolin Hollow Bluegrass Boys. Terry plays rhythm guitar for his church's praise band. Terry sings lead, baritone, and occasionally throws in a bass note or two on Houston Ridge Bluegrass gospel songs. Terry also plays mandolin and writes songs for Houston Ridge Bluegrass.
Jacob Rolin
Jacob has been playing guitar since he was a young teen. He has played electric guitar in a jazz band and currently plays lead guitar in his church's praise band. Jacob's strong voice lends itself to lead and harmony vocals. He also plays lead and rhythm guitar and writes songs and original music for Houston Ridge Bluegrass.
Jennifer Rolin
Jennifer grew up singing gospel music in church where her dad was music minister. Jennifer's vocal versatility allows her to sing lead and alto and tenor harmonies for the group. Jennifer plays fiddle and also writes songs for Houston Ridge Bluegrass.
Jacob Gibbs
Jacob Gibbs started playing bass guitar as a teen in his church youth praise band. Playing with Houston Ridge Bluegrass has been a deep dive into the world of bluegrass for him. His experience in other genres has added a new and exciting drive to the band's sound.
